The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when a 52-year-old woman stopped her vehicle on High Ridge Road after she began feeling sick, said Sgt. Kenneth Jarrett.
She began calling for help and a nearby neighbor heard her cries and called 911, he said.
Within minutes, officers Logan Pavia and Aaron Miller arrived on scene and could tell that the woman was in trouble and having a heart attack.
The two immediately began performing CPR on the woman until medics and firefighters arrived to take over, said Jarrett.
Pavia has been with the department for 10 years and Miller has been on the job just over a year.
Jarrett said the woman, who survived the heart attack, was transported to Stamford Hospital.
